Teatro de las fuentes

The Centre of Theatre Practice is an initiative of Teatro de las Fuentes; a theatrical collective created in the heart of Madrid in the end of nineties by its current director Chema León Solana. Teatro de las Fuentes has performed different shows among which special mention goes to “Hamlet Machine” based in the text of the German writer Heiner Müller (1999), and “The way to Regaleira” (2003) about the myth and the construction of Quinta du Regaleira Palace in Sintra.

In the same year 2003 it began the proyect of the Center of Theatre Practice was started with the aim of definitive finding a home for the collective.

We invoke the inheritance of the so-called theater laboratories or schools of investigation, each one in it's personal way, returning toward the ideal primitive man whose natural relationship with a mystical and a temporal world was affirmed as a viable alternative to the commercial and superficial vision of contemporary art.

The Center is located in the monastery “San José” in Cóbreces, Alfoz de Lloredo in a Community of Cantabria, bringing to this town a multicultural establishment with three distinct artistic aspects, Expeditions, Village Exchanges and School of Summer Practice.
